In this episode, Dr. Patricia Mills tackles a HIGHLY requested topic: the pros and cons of bio-identical hormone therapy for women. This is a big one!
Dr. Patricia goes over the building blocks of hormones and the domino effect of how imbalancing one of your hormones sets off cascading effects on the others. This is essential to understanding the benefits you will gain from hormone therapy on one hand, and knowing what counterbalances or side effects you may be setting in motion. Informing yourself in this aspect is crucial to taking control of your health. You know your body best, it’s time to learn how to listen to it.
Dr. Patricia will also cover everything from birth control pills/patches/injections/IUDS, to progesterone for pregnancy, menstrual/menopausal mayhem as well as what hormone therapy to choose, and what to avoid.
Dr. Patricia ties up this podcast by addressing how bio-identical hormones can play a key role in conceiving and during pregnancy. She also discusses the baseline issues that arise from an unhealthy gut, inflammation from processed foods, dairy, and poor nutrition. In this episode, Dr. Patricia puts a spotlight on IODINE. You will learn how this element is essential for thyroid and breast health and what other elements you probably come in contact with DAILY that interfere with your absorption and use of this key element.
Hint: If you take a shower, brush your teeth or eat bread daily, you are probably ingesting elements that are conflicting with your iodine being used effectively in your body.
Dr Patricia will reveal what sources are ideal and how to discern what is the right dose for you. Over supplementation of iodine can have diminishing returns and even lead to serious health problems. Know the signs!
If you are getting iodine from seaweed consumption,  Dr Patricia will give you tips on what to look for when purchasing seaweed at the grocery store or in a restaurant. You will never look at seaweed the same.
Balance is important in life and when it comes to your iodine levels, being in the “Goldilocks” zone is crucial.

In this podcast, Dr. Patricia discusses the emerging science of Epigenetics which is the study of how your thoughts, behaviors, and environment can cause changes that affect the way your genes work.  This paradigm-shattering information proves that YOU are not a hostage to your DNA, or in other words, your DNA is not your destiny. You can affect your DNA with your thoughts and behaviors, which can either bring you health and vitality or damage your DNA or repeat patterns of family diseases and health conditions. 
Your DNA loads the “gun”, however it’s the cell’s environment that pulls the trigger. 
The body is exposed to the environment/outside (toxins, unhealthy foods), and the inside (hormones triggered by your thoughts) that changes how your DNA is ‘read’ by the body. This then changes how your body is built, either in good health or poor health. You can affect this!
As always Dr. Patricia uses her superpower to distill these complex ideas down to easy-to-understand language and provides very practical applications you can start implementing immediately.
